District Information Centre Ramban organised a debate on “Role of Media in Democracy” at Government City Middle School Ramban.About 10 students participated in the competition in which Ruffiya Muktyar, Aruna Rajput and Mohammad Shahid secured first, second and third positions respectively.Speakers emphasised the need of objective, correct and bold reporting in the present era to strengthen this fourth pillar of democracy and safeguard public interest.Lauding the efforts of Information Department, Headmaster Trilok Singh urged the department to organize more such programmes in future.A cultural programme was also organized on the occasion during which local artists presented traditional pahari songs.
