As the chances of the government formation between PDP and BJP seem bleak, the Congress party has slammed the former alliance partners for embarrassing the voters and the continuing suspense.“People and the voters in particular of the state have been embarrassed by PDP and BJP. Their alliance is intact but they are not making it clear to people who have the right to know what is happening between the two parties,” JK Pradesh Congress Committee President GA Mir told KNS.Mir’s lashing comes a day after the PDP and BJP failed to break the deadlock on government formation even after several rounds of parleys were held between the top leaders of the former coalition partners. The BJP has refused to form the government “on conditions” by PDP, while the latter insists that no conditions have been set but only assurance have been sought from BJP on implementation of ‘Agenda of Alliance’.

While the BJP and PDP blame each other, Mir said that both the parties are responsible for the political stalemate and the continuing suspense.“For people, both PDP and BJP are guilty. People have voted for the two parties in elections for governance but PDP and BJP are playing closed-door games for their power. Such a situation is being seen for the first time in a democratic system. They are making mockery of it,” Mir said.He said that both the parties are answerable before people for their mounting sufferings and daily problems. The state in under Governor rule since January 8 after the death of PDP patron and former chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
