The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon accompanied by District Development Commissioner Shopian, Mr G M Dar today launched plantation drive at various places of district Shopian.During the drive the Div Com stressed for planting mulberry saplings besides other kinds of trees to protect and preserve the environment.MLA Shopian Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, ADC, Shopian and other district and sectoral officers besides the students from different educational institutions and of the district were present on the occasion.Later, the Divisional Commissioner chaired a meeting to review the progress of implementation of various central and state sponsored schemes in the district.During the meeting it was informed that out of the approved capital of Rs 8505.45 lakh and revised capital of Rs 8164.97 lakh against the availability of Rs 6792.64 lakh total expenditure upto February 2016 is Rs 5812.82 lakh. The Div Com was informed that mini secretariat in the district has been completed at a cost of Rs 36 crore and the work on fruit mandi is also nearing completion.Dr Samoon asked officers to work with zeal and dedication and put in collective efforts for the promotion and progress of agriculture and its allied sectors as these are back bone of state economy.
