The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara today convened a meeting of officers of Skill Development Mission in order to identify the need and skill development requirements in the district and sought detailed list of skilled persons registered under different trades and skills from Departments of Handicraft, Handloom, DIC and Polytechnic.The DDC constituted a committee under the supervision of Industrial Development Officer (DIC), Kupwara for identifying the skilled persons who would be accommodated for services for automobile, transformer repairs, hospitality and infrastructural development works. It was given out that the handicrafts department has registered 12000 skill developed persons while 3000 persons have been identified under Skill Development Mission. The identification of skilled persons is in progress by the other departments and a detailed list is to be submitted in due course of time. The Deputy Commissioner impressed upon the officers to identify the skilled persons as per the need of the hour with market availability and best performance as per the guidelines of the Union Skill Development Mission Board.
