While stressing for formulation of a plan for their regularization, CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has underlined that there is a dire need to chalk out a regularization mechanism for the employees including doctors, Para-medical and management staff working under National Health Mission in Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement to KNS, the CPI (M) leader said that NHM employees be regularized on the analogy adopted for regularization of contractual, adhoc and daily wagers of various departments in the state. The NHM employees are paid only 1/3rd of emoluments in comparison to their counterparts in the state which needs to be enhanced substantially keeping in view the nature of their duties and price escalations, adding that till a policy of their regularization is chalked out, the NHM employees be given an increment @ 15% per annum as is admissible in case of regular employees in form of Dearness allowances. The emoluments of their counterparts in most of the states is on higher side which also needs to be applied in our state. He also demanded that these employees be brought under insurance cover and provident fund scheme. He urged that ASHA workers be also paid fixed incentives @Rs.1500/- per month at par with other states as they have been performing duties dedicatedly and under hard conditions. (KNS)
