Former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa was taken back into the party to strengthen it ahead of the Lok Sabha election, BJP general secretary Smriti Irani said Saturday.Irani is in Goa to oversee preparations for the Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's rally Sunday."Whatever needs to be done to strengthen the party will be done," Irani told the media, when asked why a leader indicted in scandals has been taken back into the party.Yeddyurappa, a leader of the powerful Lingayat community, quit the BJP ahead of the last assembly polls after he was dropped as chief minister by the BJP amid charges of corruption.
