Oakridge International School organised Sports Carnival at its campus. It was a perfect blend of culture and sports. It was an amalgamation of performing arts and games. The show began with a parade where all the children came and welcomed the parents. The show then moved to the dance performances. The theme of the show was dances around the world and sports. The show stopper was the opening dance that reflected the National games of the world in a dance form. The students performed the Country line dance and Hip hop of America, Aerobics, bamboo dance, zorba, PT drill, dumbbell presentation and yoga. Later, Gurnoor Brar, Harsimran Kaur, Sukhdev Singh, Snehpreet Kaur, Niharika and Rajinder Kaur were awarded with the academic achievers trophy for the previous session .
The event then moved towards the track events. Nursery to Grade 1 participated in fun races like balloon race, zig zag race, bag packing race and many other races. Grade 2 and above participated in sprint races, lemon race, sack race and relay. The last event of the day was the tug of war. After that the winner students were awarded with the medals.Principal of the School Ramanjit Ghuman thanked the efforts of the students, staff and parents for their tireless work in making this event a success. The finale was a Bhangra performance that was sorely prepared and choreographed by the students themselves. The event ended with all the parents departing with a smiling child at their side and feeling prouder with every moment.
