Sopore residents Friday held protest over shifting of Transport Office from town to Tarzoo village.Large number of people from Sopore town assembled outside Transport Office building and raised slogans in favour of their demands. The protesters said that there is ample space for parking here and if it will be shifted to Tarzoo, that will lead to traffic snarls there. “It is grave injustice towards the people of Sopore town who have already been ignored by successive state governments,” the protesters told CNS adding that they will launch an agitation in case the order of shifting the office is not revoked.ARTO Sopore Abdul Ahad Itoo told CNS it is a government order and the office will get shifted within days. “We lack space in Sopore where our office is located on the second storey of the building. The first storey is occupied by shopkeepers,” he said. (CNS)
