With a view to providing better and uninterrupted transport facilities to the passengers and at the same time ensuring the welfare of the employees, the Punjab government has taken perse steps includes Direct Bus Service to Airport, New A.C. and Non A.C. Buses, Recruitment of Employees, timely Promotions for the employees, Jobs on Compassionate Ground, Computerization of Transport Offices, Cab Service, City Bus Service and On Line Permit Scheme etc. This was disclosed by Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab S. Sukhbir Singh Badal while speaking on the occasion of taking over the charge by newly appointed PEPSU Road Transport Corporation (PEPSU) Chairman S. Avtar Singh Brar. The deputy Chief Minister also said that with the concerted efforts of SAD-BJP Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister, Punjab S. Parkash Singh Badal, passengers had been provided better transport facilities besides various steps had been taken for the welfare of the employees resulted in many qualitative and quantitative improvement in the department. He said that New Buses were being added to the existing fleet of PEPSU soon.Speaking on the occasion, S. Avtar Singh Brar thanked Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and Shiromani Akali Dal President and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal for handing over him the responsibility of PEPSU and said that he would try to render best services to the people of Punjab.Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included S. Sikander Singh Malooka, Education Minister, Punjab; S. Mantar Singh Brar, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayats, Mr. Bhupinder Singh, Managing Director, PRTC, Mr. Surinder Singh, General Manager (Admn.) PRTC, Patiala ; Mr. D.K. Sood, Sh. H.S. Bhatti, Senior Officers of the department besides political leaders, supporters, family members and relatives of the newly appointed chairman.
