State of Punjab will give full thrust to the Aadhaar enrolment in the State and complete 100% Aadhaar enrolment in next 3 months. Punjab already is ranked 4th in Aadhaar enrolment in the country with 95% population having Aadhaar numbers.The detailed action plan to achieve 100% Aadhaar enrolment and also to integrate Aadhaar platform with Government Social schemes and other programmes was discussed in detail in Unique Identification Implementation Committee (UIDIC) meeting held under the chairmanship of Mr. Sarvesh Kaushal today.During the meeting, Chief Secretary was told that State has enrolled 2.7 crore persons which is 95% population of the State and the Aadhaar has been integrated with social schemes and projects like e-District, Suwidha etc. 

To cover the remaining population, Chief Secretary directed Principal Secretary Planning to work closely with Departments of Social Security and School Education to complete the enrolment of children studying at Primary Schools and Anganwari centers. The special teams will visit Anganwaries and Primary schools to enroll the children. Chief Secretary also directed the nodal department to finalize the procurement of tablets and training of Anganwari workers so that future enrolment of children below the age of 5 years can also be done immediately. A Committee comprising Principal Secretary Social Security, Principal Secretary Planning, Joint Secretary Food & Civil Supplies and DPI (Primary) was formed to complete the work on war footing.Chief Secretary was informed that 195 permanent Aadhaar enrolment center are operational at Sub-division and Tehsil level Suwidha centers and citizens can visit these centers for Aadhaar enrolment and also for any other Aadhaar related work. Further under eDistrict project, the biometric devices will be supplied in next one month which will help in real time verification of the applicant at Suwidha centers and also at upcoming Sewa Kendras. 

Divulging the details related to Aadhaar scheme, Chief Secretary was informed that the 99.38% seeding of MGNREGA beneficiaries and 75% seeding of PDS and scholarship schemes have been completed. Chief Secretary directed the nodal officer UIDAI to complete the Aadhaar seeding in all the social sector schemes, PDS, Pensions, citizen services etc in the next 3 months. Aadhaar integration will result in elimination of bogus beneficiaries and a lot of money of the State will be saved, said the Chief Secretary. He also directed Departments of School Education, Technical Education and Higher Education to use Aadhaar platform for the next Admission cycle. He further directed Departments of Social Security, Welfare of SCs/BCs, and Department of Planning to integrate their schemes and programmes with Aadhaar platforms in next 6 months.The meeting was attended by Mr. Viswajeet Khanna, Principal Secretary Housing and Urban Development, Mr. G Vajralingam, Principal Secretary School Education, Mr. S R Ladhar, Principal Secretary Planning, Mr. Anurag Aggarwal, Principal Secretary Social Security, Mr. Hussan Lal, Secretary Health and other concerned officials.
