The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has written to Union Ministry of External Affairs, Mrs. Sushma Swaraj to bring back 13 dalit Punjabi youths to India, who are detained in Jordan.Disclosing this, Chairman of Punjab State SC Commission, Mr. Rajesh Bagha said that 13 Punjabi Dalit youth had gone to Jordan in search of employment, where they were imprisoned. He said that two month wages of these youngsters is withheld by ‘Coppery Construction Company’ and their 2 years contract with the Company is over. He also mentioned that these people called the Commission from Jordan for extending a helping hand to them for bringing them back home to India. So, the commission wrote to Mrs. Sushma Swaraj for personal intervention in case.Mr. Bagha further said that Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission is duty bound for addressing the problems of SC community in accordance with law and would continue to discharge its duty.
