‘Harassment’ of Kashmiri’s outside state ,Hurriyat G stages protest across Kashmir

In a bid to express solidarity with the JNU students and to impress upon Government of India to stop harassing Kashmiri students, Hurriyat G organized a protest march in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district. The protest was led senior Hurriyat leader Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Al Safvi.Amid pro-freedom slogans protesters who were carrying banners and placards castigated government of India for framing innocent students at Jawahar Lal Nehru University New Delhi. During his address to protesters Aga Syed Hasan thanked JNU students for taking a pro-Kashmir stand. He said that some sections of media are busy in labeling Kashmir Freedom Struggle as terrorist movement while the same media have left no stone unturned in harassing those students who raised pro-Kashmir and anti-India slogans at University campus.

“Even an Indian Parliament Member acknowledged our struggle and supported our right to self determination. The remarks made by former Home and Finance Minister P. Chidambaram about the innocence of Muhamamd Afzal Guroo vindicated our stand. People of Kashmir have been saying right from the beginning the Muhammad Afzal Guroo was innocent and became a victim of political conspiracy,” he said and appealed international community to play its role in resolving Kashmir issue.Police detained female activists of Muslim Khawateen Markaz and Kashmir Tehreek Khawateen when they assembled in Press Enclave here under the leadership of Yasmin Raja and Zamrooda Habib. They were demanding the immediate release of SAR Geelani.Scores of activists from Democratic Political Movement (DPM carrying placards and banners seeking safety for Kashmiri students assembled outside Haji Masjid Maisuma shortly after the Friday congregational prayers. As they tried to take out a march, police swung into action and arrested several protesters including Chief Coordinator DPM Shakeel Ahmed Bhat and District President Srinagar Muhammad Imran. Meanwhile, Chairman DPM Advocate Muhammad Shafi Reshi while condemning the police action said it has become a norm for police to muzzle the voice of peaceful protesters.Protests were also organized in other parts of Valley.
