Villagers of Pancholi Deon today submit an application to SSP Vigilance to investigate the alleged embezzlement of crores of rupees in construction of road in remote village of district Samba under Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojna (PMGSY).

People had already protested against alleged favouritism in distribution of road project which is still incomplete despite contractors spending more than Rs. 3.50 crore since last four years when the construction started.A delegation of people led by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader, Sunny Sangral has urged the Vigilance Organisation to start a thorough probe into the alleged scam to trace the culprits and put them behind bars.

Meanwhile PDP leader alleged that whenever anyone in the village have raised question over the misappropriation of funds by the powerful local contractors having close links with the politician, they have been threatened.“People are fed up with the all round corruption in the Samba constituency and role of MLA, Yashpal Kundal in wrongdoing in the distribution of contracts. If government takes no action, we will launch mass agitation against the MLA”, Sangral said.Even in place of a demand for culvert near a rough patch, only simple earthwork has been done, which gets carried away during every rainfall. Sangral alleged that this retaining wall has been constructed on three occasion but rather than constructing a culvert, only earthwork is done.
