The most important factor which has played spoilsport with regards to change in climate is deforestation,” an expert from Kashmir University said.He said until and unless deforestation is continues Kashmir may face even drastic changes in climate which may not be favorable for people and the fragile ecological system.Moreover people from November to March have been consuming pulses to avoid viral and desiccated diseases however this season people could be seen enjoying ice cream and soft drinks as there are no signs of snowfall in predicted by MeT in near future.Wearing of traditional Phiran that keeps people warm in winters is replaced with cotton shirts or light pullovers as the people who however shivers with cold in this month seems least bothered regarding the implications of February.“We feel warmth of May in February, we really enjoyed this year as the climate remains moderate with no snowfall in Kashmir,” Irram Manzoor a class 3rd student of Malison Girls School said.
