Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation celebrated the occasion of the birthday of Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj by organising a cleanliness campaign and a tree plantation drive in various places in Mohali.The cleanliness drive at Civil hospital phase 6 Mohali, was inaugurated by Zonal InchargeChandigarh zone, Sant Nirankari Mandal, Dr. BS Cheema Ji. stated that this day is celebrated by holding cleanliness campaign and tree plantation drives, every year.
The Nirankari devotees contributed in the cleaning of selected areas and spots of the hospital, with the assistance of the hospital administration. The devotees also cleaned the areas near Mohali railway station, and Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhavan, in Mohali. The devotees were trying to adhere on the preaching of Nirankari Baba Ji that as we keep our bodies clean and tidy, the cleanliness and purity of the soul and the mind is equally important, to make it more beautiful.
Municipal Corporation Mohali commissioner, sh Uma Shankar Gupta inaugurated the tree plantation drive at the Mohali railway station. Appreciating the efforts of the Mission, he said, “The contribution of the Nirankari Mission in this social cause is highly laudable.” He also said that only an increase in the green belt by an increase in the number of trees planted can lead to a clean environment. He appealed to the devotees of the Mission that they also nurture the saplings that are being planted today.On this occasion, Sanchalak Mohali zone Dr. K Garg, said that the Nirankari devotees are contributing to serving the humanity, after having attained God-knowledge from Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji. He added, “Today’s cleanliness campaign and tree plantation drive is an example for the same.”
He also said that Director Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and Joint Secretary City Welfare Ministry Sh. Praven Prakash (IAS) has designated the responsibility of cleanliness of 114 government hospitals in India, to Sant Nirankari Mission. Besides, the responsibility of cleaning of 46 ‘A’ grade railway stations in India, has also been granted to Sant Nirankari Mission by the railway ministry, wherein the regional Nirankari devotees have been contributing since October 2015, by way of cleaning of the railway stations, once every month, all over the country.Dr. K Garg concluded by saying that the Nirankari Sewadal, men and women alike, have contributed willingly in great numbers.
