Governor N.N Vohra, Patron and President, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) has approved awards to be given to Artists and Students for Painting, Drawing, Graphics and Sculpture.167 Art Works were received by the Academy for the 51st Annual State Award/Exhibition. The Adjudicating Committee selected 127 works/exhibits for the State Exhibition and also recommended Art Awards in the artist and student categories and Certificates of Merit with cash prize of Rs. 1000 each for three persons in the Artist category and two in the Student category.In the Artist category, cash prizes of Rs 50,000 each have been awarded to Ms. Renu Bala for sculpture in wood and metal, and to Mr. Rouf Qayasi for painting in mix-media. 

Similarly, in the Students category cash prizes of Rs 10,000 each have been awarded to Mr. Jaswinder Singh for painting and Mr. Mohd. Younis for sculpture in Diveri stone.Certificates of Merit, with cash prize of Rs. 1000 each, in the Artist category have been awarded to Mr. Ankit Sudan for painting in acrylic, to Mr. Gh. Mohd. Bhat for painting in water colour and to Mr. Subash Anand for painting in acrylic. Similarly in the Student category, Certificate of Merit, with cash prize of Rs. 1000 each, have been awarded to Mr. Mohd. Syeed Teeli for painting in poster colour and Mr. Sachin Kumar for sculpture in stone and leather.
