AIP today carried out a peaceful sit in in front of Civil Secretariat Jammu against the brutal killing of Mohammad Yaqoob at Sarore Baribrehmana and demanded immediate end to the atrocities against Jammu Muslims. Dozens of Party workers led by MLA Langate Er Rasheed, carrying play cards surfaced near Civil Secretariat and sat on the sit in. Talking to media persons on the occasion Er Rasheed alleged that state administration is being run by RSS patronaged goons and they have one point agenda to destroy Jammu Muslims. Er Rasheed said. “We strongly believe in communal harmony but being secular or non-communal doesn’t mean closing eyes against all that happening in the Jammu province. Even if the Gujjar Community would have occupied the land illegally but there is no justification to use force against unarmed citizens.

State administration should explain that if top politicians and bureaucrats have grabbed the state land from Gulmarg to Jammu at different places, why does it selectively target poor Muslims. However we will never accept this hooliganism and will fight till these fascist forces within and outside administration are forced to change their behaviors.” Er Rasheed demanded judicial probe into matter and sought immediate arrest of those whosoever is involved in the incident. Besides others Advocate Touqeer and prominent social activist Mohammad Touseef participated in the sit in. Earlier Er Rasheed visited GMC Jammu Hospital to know about the condition of injured persons. However after the sit in when Er Rasheed and his colleagues tried to visit Baribrehmana to take part in the funeral of Mohammad Yaqoob, he was stopped by the police and confined to his residence.
