Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who is under house arrest for the past three days, talked to the families of the two students Danish Farooq and Shaista Hamid, who were killed in firing by government forces in Pulwama, and expressed sympathy and solidarity with them.Terming the killing of both the students as highly unfortunate, the Mirwaiz said their martyrdoms were assets for the Kashmiri nation and the sacrifices of these youngsters for the just cause of the right to self-determination of the people would bear fruit and the ongoing resistance movement would reach its logical conclusion.Meanwhile, a delegation comprising of senior Hurriyat leader, Muhammad Musadiq Adil, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Farooq Mamoosi, Abdul Majid Wani, Mir Ghulam Hassan and a number of other Hurriyat (M) leaders visited Pulwama residences of the martyred youth Danish Farooq and Shaista Hamid and expressed sympathy with their bereaved families.
Addressing the condolence gathering on the occasion, the Hurriyat (M) leaders paid glowing tributes to the martyred students and other martyrs of the Kashmir’s resistance movement and said that by using oppressive and suppressive tactics, the just rights of the people of Kashmir and their voices cannot be crushed for long.Meanwhile, an Hurriyat (M) spokesman expressed grief and shock over the death of the wife of one of the topmost resistance leaders of Kashmir, Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.Senior Hurriyat leaders Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Syed Muzaffar Rizvi, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Jaffar Kashmiri and others participated in the funeral prayers in absentia for the deceased and recalled the role played by this house maker of one of the topmost resistance leaders of Kashmir, and her patience and steadfastness and paid glowing tributes to her.
