Aam Aadmi Party, Punjab today took a serious note of Amritsar being legging behind in the list of clean cities of India. Aam Aadmi Party leader and noted Comedian Gurpreet Ghuggi said that Amritsar being the religious and historic city is a respected place for the Punjabis and people all across the world. But because of the irresponsible behavior, personal enmities of city politicians and mismanagement, the city has listed on the 49th spot in the list of ‘Swatch Sarvekshan-2016’.Ghuggi said that by not doing enough for cleanliness in the city the politicians have disgraced the Guru Sahibs and the hundred of martyrs who have given their lives saving the great city. He said that Punjab government has failed to resolve the issue of dumping ground in the city and is responsible for the disgrace to the city. Ghuggi said that Cabinet Minister Anil Joshi is an M.L.A from the city while so called ‘Jarnail of Majha’ Punjab Cabinet Minister, Bikramjit Majithia is also associated with the city. He said that both of them have run away from their responsibilities and have failed keep the holy city clean despite being on such important portfolios.

Lashing on Member of Parliament from the city and President, PPCC, Captain Amrinder Singh the AAP leader said that despite of his tall claims, the representative of the city has not even attended a single session of Lok Sabha and failed to raise the demands of the city residents. He said that Amrinder should have respected the people of city who had voted for him and sent him to the Lok Sabha by raising their voice at the national level and get the special grants under ‘Swatch Bharat Abhayan’ started by Government of India. He asked Amrinder to clarify his stand on the issue of city being at 49th spot in the list of ‘Swatch Sarvekshan-2016’.Ghuggi also accused Union Finance Minister and BJP’s Amritsar candidate for Lok Sabha elections, Arun Jaitly for turning a blind eye to the demands of city after the elections. He said his behavior shows that Jaitly’s love for city was just till the elections and all the claims were made to grab the votes. He said that during elections, Jaitly used to call Amritsar his ‘Home City’ but he didn’t even visit the city after his defeat in the elections.
