With a view to educate the students about the entire procedure for recruitment of officers in Indian Armed Forces, Lt. Col. Vivek Jaswal, Commanding Officer of 23 Pb. Bn. NCC Ropar, visited Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri. He interacted with the NCC cadets of Jhanjeri Campus. During his talk, he briefed them about five days selection procedure of the Services Selection Board (SSB). He showed some PPTs and videos of SSB and conducted a small workshop of Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT), Word Associate Test (WAT), Situation Reaction Test(SRT) etc. he gave some useful tips and hints to the students to tackle the problems at SSB centers. He also directed the cadets about some Do’s and Don’ts during the selection process. Based on his experience of working as a psychologist at the SSB Centre Allahabad, he gave a complete overview of the psychological tests conducted.
Speaking on the occasion S.Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC, said that the college put in lots of efforts for starting NCC in the campus. Now the NCC cadets of CGC Jhanjeri are showing excellent results and winning a number of prizes at various Annual Training Camps. Dr. G.D.Bansal, Director General, said that in view of a great demand of students for enrolment in NCC, the college arranged a number of tests and permitted only those students to join NCC who have a flair for joining Indian Armed Forces. Dr. Bansal added that a number of CGC students have already been selected in Indian Air Force, Indian Navy and Indian Army through University Entry Scheme available in CGC.
