Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal has said that rapid and all round development of Punjab carried out during tenure of SAD-BJP government cannot be matched by previous governments of congress. He said that in previous 9 years, Punjab government has initiated welfare schemes for every section of society and commenced projects worth crores for fast paced progress of state. Terming 2017 assembly polls as battleground for development, he said that pace for development of state would be given further impetus in near future. Calling Khadoor Sahib by-poll a semifinal, he said that results of this poll have clearly demonstrated that SAD-BJP would form government in 2017.

Addressing a mammoth rally of youth akali dal in grain market, S. Badal announced that during course of next 5 years streets-drains of all 12000 villages in Punjab would be concretized. He said that state has seen development only during SAD-BJP tenure and initiatives concerning focal points and grain markets , Old age pension, grants for dharamshalas in villages, shagan scheme, atta-dal scheme, waiving of tubewell bills of farmers, mukh mantri tirath darshan yatra scheme free of cost, health insurance for poor people, farmers and traders, making state power surplus and 4laning and 6 laning of prominent roads at a cost of Rs. 20000 crore are some of people friendly measures undertaken by state government. He informed that in 2 months time, amphibious buses would be run in waters of harike.

Lambasting Congress and AAP, Deputy Chief Minister said that both these parties have nothing to do with development of Punjab and politics of congress is based on blatant lies whereas AAP is a party of dramatists. He called both these parties reactionary and said that only SAD-BJP alliance is serious about development of state from all aspects. He also said that SAD has glorious history of making sacrifices during freedom struggle as well as for just rights of Punjab and its people.Earlier, Member Rajya Sabha Mr. Balwinder Singh Bhunder welcomed Deputy Chief Minister. On this occasion, S. Badal announced Rs. 20 crore for development of Sardulgarh and informed that another Rs. 20 crore had earlier been given by Chief Minister Punjab for developing this constituency.On this occasion, Rural Development and Panchayat Minister, S. Sikander Singh Maluka, MLA Mansa Mr. Prem Mittal, MLA Budhladha Mr. Chetann Singh Samao, Chairman District Planning Board Mansa Mr. Prem Arora, Chairman Punseed Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Aulakh, President Youth Akali Dal Mr. Rozy Barkandi, Halqa Incharge Sardulgarh Mr. Dilraj Singh Bhunder, District President Youth Akali Dal Mr. Avtar Singh Rara and others were also present.
