In a relief for Britain-based businessman Nazir Mussa in a dispute over a 13-acre prime property in Mumbai, the Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) challenging the bail granted to him by Bombay High Court.Indian businessman Shobhit Rajan had filed the SLP challenging the Bombay High Court order which quashed an FIR filed by him against Mussa and freed the Britain-based businessman on bail.Justices Jagdish Singh Khehar and C. Nagappan heard the petition and dismissed it, said advocate Sajid Mohamed, who appeared for Mussa along with senior counsel Aryama Sundaram and A.M. Singhvi.

On the basis of a complaint filed by Rajan, Mumbai police had arrested Mussa from the Cricket Club of India in June 2014 and put him behind bars, where he remained for 28 days.Mussa argued before the high court that Rajan had filed the case against him apparently "to acquire control of the prime property by arm-twisting his partner." The case arises out of a long standing corporate war between Arnool Jamal, a Canadian businessman based out of Kenya, Musa and Rajan over the 13-acre land earlier owned by Parke Davis on which a massive commercial property called Logitech Park was built.
