The Punjab Government is all set to organise state level functions for launching the state wide disbursement of enhanced old age pension to the beneficiaries on February 18.It was disclosed by Mr. Rahul Tiwari, Secretary, Information and Public Relations while chairing the meeting of all the nodal officers from various districts to review the preparedness of the districts in this regard. He said that the Punjab Government has already doubled the old age pension by enhancing it from Rs. 250 to Rs. 500. He said that to kick start the scheme two state level functions one at Mohali and one at Jalandhar would be organised, where Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal would be the chief guest respectively. He said that similar functions would be organised in other 22 districts and 95 satellite functions in all the assembly constituencies, these functions would be preside over by the local leaders. Mr. Tiwari instructed the officers to ensure the smooth conduction of these functions and to further ensure that the enhanced old age pensions is disbursed to the beneficiaries every month in hassle free manner. He also directed them to send the compliance report by 10th of every month. Mr. Tiwari also released the schedule of the district level functions and the leaders who would preside over the function as per schedule.

Chief Minister, Punjab Mr. Parkash Singh Badal would preside over the state level function at SAS Nagar, Mohali, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal at Jalandhar, Mr. Chunni Lal Bhagat at Hoshiarpur, Mr. Aadesh Partap Singh Kairon at Tarn Taran, Mr. Ajit Singh Kohar at Kapurthala, Mr. Gulzar Singh Ranike at Gurdaspur, Mr. Madan Mohal Mittal at Ropar, Mr. Parminder Singh  Dhindsa at Ludhiana, Mr. Sohan  Singh Thandal at Nawan Shahr, Mr. Janmeja Singh Sekhon at Ferozpur, Mr. Surjit Kumar Jiyani at Fazilka, Jathedar Tota Singh at Sangrur, Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia at Amritsar, Mr. Sikandar Singh Maluka at Bathinda, Mr. Anil Joshi at Pathankot, Mr. Surjit Singh Rakhra at Patiala, Mr. Sharnjit Singh Dhillon at Moga, Mr. Daljit Singh Cheema at Fatehgarh Sahib, Sant Balbir Singh Ghunas at Mansa, Mr. Mantar Singh Brar at Faridlkot, Mr. Parkash Chand Garg at sri Mukatsar Sahib and Mr. Sarup Chand Singla would preside over the function to be held at Barnala.Prominent amongst other who were present in the meeting included Mrs. Senu Duggal, Director Information and Public Relations, Punjab, Mrs. Lily Chowdhary Joint Director Social Security, assistant commissioners, ADC (D), ADC (G) and other officers deputed as nodal officers for this purpose by various Deputy Commissioners.
