Hundreds of people Friday offered funeral prayers in absentia for three militants who were killed in an encounter with forces in Hajin town of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday.Eye-witnesses told KNS that hundreds assembled near Sonawari Eidgah, Hajin and offered the prayers at around3:00 pm.Meanwhile, a complete shutdown was observed in Hajin town amid clashes going on between youths and forces since the wee hours of the morning.The protesters were demanding bodies of the three militants, marched towards the Hajin Chowk. However, police and paramilitary personnel deployed in the area resorted to tear smoke shells to disperse them.

The clashes were going on when the last reports poured in.Police has said that three LeT militants were Pakistani nationals, who were planning to cross over to south Kashmir from the northern area, were trapped in Khushipora village near Hajin town.Meanwhile, massive clashes erupted between youth and forces in downtown areas in Srinagar soon after Fridaycongregation at historic Jamia Masjid ended.Pakistani and ISIS flags were also hoisted by the angry youth in the area, eye-witnesses told KNS.However, several photo journalists working with local, national and international news outlets sustained minor injuries while covering the stone pelting clashes in here.
