Director, Rajya Sainik Board Retd. Brigadier Harcharan Singh met veterans and war widows during his visit to Sainik Sarai Basohli today.During the visit Director Harcharan Singh spoke about issues being taken up with the Governor and also about his vision for employment of ex-servicemen including disabled/handicapped veterans.He thanked the state Government and army for all their continued support. He also stressed upon the ex-servicemen to concentrate on educating their children so that they can join the armed forces and bring laurels to the nation and families.Later, Director distributed four annuity grants cheques among Veer Chakra holder Hon. Capt. Balwant Singh amounting to Rs 50,000/-and cheque amounting to Rs. 3000/- each to Sena Medal holder Lt. Hans Raj and Hon. Capt. Hans Raj. He also distributed a cheque for ‘one battle causality at Kargil’ to Karan Singh, father of Martyr Rajinder Singh of village Marta Nagrota, Basohli amounting Rs 3750/-Zila Sainik Welfare Officer Kathua Y.S Andotra, staff of Sainik Sarai Basohli, Ex Servicemen, veterans and war widows were also present on the occasion.
