Department of Information and Public Relations today organized a cultural cum awareness programme based on the theme ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padao’ at Government Higher Secondary School Vijaypur.Principal GHSS Vijaypur, Dev Anand was chief guest on the occasion. The programme was organized to highlight the trend of decline in child sex ratio and ensuring education and participation of the girl child.The Principal called for coordinated efforts for protection and education of the girl child and organizing similar programmes to spread awareness among the masses.
On the occasion a symposium was also organized on the topic ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padao’ in which Pooja Kumari (Class 10th), Esha Sharma (Class 12th) and Pallvi Kangotra (Class 10th) were awarded first, second and third prize respectively.A Skit was also presented by the school children on ‘Ensuring survival and protection of the girl child’.
The Cultural programme was presented by artists Ajit Sharma, Ravi Dutta, Surjeet Kumar, Neelam Kumari, Jasbir kumar and others. Among others present on the occasion were SMS (ATMA) Agriculture Department Parshotam Sharma, teachers and students.
