Handwara police busted a gang of thieves in Handwara who were attempting theft in the area.On intervening night of 28/29-01-2016, a patrolling party from Police Station Handwara while patrolling in the main market of Handwara busted the plan of theft when a 19 years old Ubaid Ahmad Pir son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Warsun Kupwara was apprehended by patrolling party while he was attempting to steal things/merchandise from a shop and it was found that locks of various shops were broken open and had broke open the locks of various shops in Handwara market. He was apprehended with a bunch of fake keys used by him for opening the locks of these shops.
The timely action of Handwara police has saved the property worth lacks that belonged to shopkeepers of Handwara.A case FIR number 25/2016 under section 457, 380, 34 RPC was registered in Police Station Handwara and investigation was taken up under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Handwara Mr. Gh. Jeelani Wani and SDPO Handwara Mir Ifrooz.During the course of investigation two more accomplices of accused Ubaid Peer identified as Khurshid Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat resident of Wooder Rajwara and Mohammad Ashraf War son of Mohammad Sabir War resident of Sheikhpora Heril were arrested. Stolen property along with weapon of offense was also recovered from their possession. (GNS)
