DG Prisons organizes blood screening, awareness camp for jail inmates, staff

Blood screening for HIV/AIDs, HBsAg, HCV, blood grouping and an awareness camp was organized in district Jail Jammu in collaboration with J&K State AIDS Prevention and Control Society (JKSAPCS) under the aegis of Director General of Police, Prisons J&K, S K Mishra.The camp was inaugurated by Director General of Police, Prisons, on January 18 and concluded on January 28. During the camp 441 jail inmates and nine staff members were screened.

On the concluding day of screening camp, Superintendent District Jail Jammu Harish Kotwal expressed their gratitude to Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman, Project Director, Dr. Yash Paul Karsyal, Assistant Director and Medical Officer of District Jail Jammu, Dr. Harinder Singh Bedi, Dr. Vivek Mangotra, Dr. Haider Ali and Dr. Shamshad Begum and paramedical staff for their cooperation and efforts. The jail inmates also appreciated the efforts of the Director General of Police, Prisons J&K for organizing such type of camp in the Jail.
