Chief Secretary reviews NFSA implementation with DCs

Chief Secretary, B R Sharma Thursday reviewed the progress with regard to the implementation of National Food Security Act (NFSA) in the State, in a video conference with Deputy Commissioners.Secretary CA&PD, Saurabh Bhagat, Director CA&PD Jammu, Director CA&PD, Kashmir and other officers were also present in the meeting.DCs presented before the Chief Secretary, latest report on the status of fidelity check of the beneficiary data collected with regard to NFSA rollout in the State. They also reported that seeding PDS beneficiaries with Aadhaar is also going on simultaneously and the whole process shall be completed shortly.Chief Secretary issued strict directions to DCs to complete the process and upload correct data on the National Portal at the earliest. He said all DCs are required to submit a completion certificate in this regard.Once NFSA is rolled out in the State, food grains will be made available at highly subsidised prices to all eligible households.
