People and attendants staged a massive protest against the authorities of District Hospital Baramullah and alleged that not a single doctor remains available in the hospital during night hours.Eyewitnesses told CNS that attendants went on rampage after finding no doctor available in the District Hospital Baramulla. The attendants ransacked the hospital after the incumbent Medical Superintendent responded to them on phone that he is not their servant who will look after them round the clock.Reports said that attendants lost their cool after they found no doctor in the hospital during the night hours. “It is District Hospital and one fails to understand why doctors don’t remain present in the hospital,” said an attendant.Another attendant said that authorities have been giving free hand to the doctors who arrive in the hospital at will. “Two serious patients arrived during midnight but no doctor was available here. When we protest we are labeled as anti-establishment elements.”Terming all these allegations baseless, Medical Superintendent Baramulla Dr Masood alleged that some vested interest elements wanted to black mail him and have been spreading misinformation about the hospital. “Go to hell I give a damn to these patients and attendants,” he said while dropping the phone.(CNS)
