Village development plan for Sansad Adarsh Grams reviewed in Doda

A meeting to discuss the village development plans for the Sansad Adarsh Grams  Bharti and  Hambal  of District Doda was today held under the chairmanship of District Development commissioner Doda, Bhupinder Kumar   in conference hall Doda.During the meeting Assistant Commissioner Development Doda  Susheel Kumar  explained in detail the vision of SAGY  and informed the meeting that  these Adarsh Grams are to be developed keeping in view the vision of Prime Minister to develop nation by developing the villages.

While speaking on the occasion, DDC said that inspired by the principles of Mahatama Gandhi the scheme places equal stress on nurturing value of national pride, community spirit, self confidence and developing infrastructure and there is need to change the thought process of linking development with enhancing the infrastructure only. “Beyond infrastructure this scheme focuses on people participation, gender equality ,dignity of women, spirit of community service, cleanliness, peace and harmony, transparency and accountability so that these village should become a real model for others”, he added. Calling holistic development imperative for turning a village into  model village,  he said   that this scheme, while focusing upon the  multiple areas  such as  Education, Public Health  Engineering, Electricity, Sanitation, livelihoods  etc will envisage integrated development of selected villages.

He asked the entire participatory department to devise a plan while fixing the priorities to be achieved in a time bound manner.While reviewing the present status on various priority areas under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY), DDC complemented the work done by all the stake holders in providing road connectivity to these two villages. Under Education sector, Chief Education Officer was asked to ensure that all the vacancies of teaching staff in the schools of theses villages are filled before next academic session besides XEN PHE was asked to work out the plan for providing assured drinking water supply to these villages. XEN PDD was directed to survey both the villages for any excess load and then work out the possibilities and submit the plan for strengthening them with additional transformers.

In another important component of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, DDC asked the District Panchayat Officer to target these villages for making them open defecation free besides asked for conducting awareness camps  to educate the rural people about the ill effects of defecating in the open. To educate the masses about the various social security schemes of  Social welfare department and to achieve 100% financial inclusion of all the citizens living in these villages by opening their bank accounts  DC asked District Social Welfare officer Doda  and Bankers of Doda to conduct awareness camps in these two villages in consultation of Charge Officers of both these Adarsh Villages and sarpanches. To enroll the beneficiaries on the spot they were also directed to carry the enrolment forms with them in the camps. ADDC Doda Er Nariender Singh Bali was asked to supervise all such camps in these villages.

DDC also exhorted upon all the officers to chalk out the calendar of visits in these villages and discuss the various activities to be undertaken by the departments and formulate the plans for these villages in consultation with the villagers. The supervision of entire process will be ensured by ADDC, he further said.CPO Doda Y.S Katoch, SDM Gandoh  Dalmir Choudhary, other district officers and sarpanches of  these two Adarsh Villages  were present in the meeting.
