Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today predicted that Congress Party would have to face ‘vote drought’ in ensuing Lok Sabha polls and electorates would not spare Congress led UPA government for its bad deeds. At national political stage colossal debacle was in wait to meet Congress led UPA Government, which would be confirmed with the confirmation of Rahul Gandhi’s proposed name as UPA’s Prime Ministerial candidate. Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal stated this while presiding over the state-level Christmas function held here at the Government College Stadium orgnaised by All-India Christian Dalit Front president and Punjab Minorities Commission chairman Monawar Masih. Mr. Badal said that electorates would ready to wipe out Congress led UPA Government for its decade long bad deeds by rejecting its exercises to cover all these with good words. The Congress’ doomsday is inevitable and it would not remain on national political map in 2014, he added.

Answering a query regarding proposed preparation of Congress high command to project party’s Vice President Mr. Rahul Gandhi as its Prime Ministerial candidate, Deputy CM ridiculed Rahul’s performance in recent state polls and said the confirmation in this regard would be sufficient for colossal debacle of Congress Party in Lok Sabha polls. He said that in comparison of Mr. Narendra Modi, Rahul does not know the basics of politics, administration and development.Responding to query regarding hue and cry of PPCC regarding state’s ranking as compare to other states, Mr. Badal said that SAD-BJP Government’s sole agenda was development and they were committed to develop Punjab a number No.1 state in the country. He said that Punjab was leading in various fields while in coming time it would put new milestones in fields like Industry, Education, Health, and Investment besides having status of first Power surplus state in the country. He said that SAD-BJP Government never indulged itself into negative politics like Congress Party having strong stand on its ultimate goal of development.Reiterating his commitment to provide all basic amenities and benefits at grass root level, Mr. Badal said that it was Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal’s led SAD-BJP Government, which started Shagun Scheme, Atta-Daal Scheme, cashless treatment for blue card holders, Rs. 30000 scholarship for meritorious students. He said that Punjab Government was contemplating to introduce more welfare schemes for poverty stricken families, which would be finalized soon. He said that under Ashirwad Scheme of Punjab Government minority students can avail complete education without paying a single penny.

Announcing half-day holiday in Gurdaspur district on December 24 in view of Christmas celebrations, Mr. Badal said that the contribution of Christian Community in the field of Education and Health could not be overlooked.  He also asked Mr. Munawar Masih, Chairman Minority Commission, Punjab to come with a detail list of demands of Christian Community so that necessary steps could be taken well in time.  He said that Punjab Government was committed to maintain communal harmony and peace in the state at all costs. The leaders of Christian Community also honoured Mr. Badal.Prominent amongst those present on the occasion Mr. Gurbachan Singh Babbehali, Mr. Des Raj Dhugga, both CPS, Mr. Nirmal Singh Kahlon, former Speaker, Mr. Sewa Singh Sekhwan, Mr. Sucha Singh Langah, Capt. Balbir Singh Bath (Retd), all former ministers and Lakhbir Singh Lodhi Nangal, former MLA, Mr. Prince Masih, All India President Youth Christian Front.
