To observe the 27th national Road Safety Week, an awareness Programme was today organized by Motor Vehicle Department Doda in coordination with Traffic Police Doda in Town Hall Doda.The awareness programme was aimed to create the awareness regarding the benefits of developing various safety habits by the drivers so as to make the district accident free. Various prominent personalities and Senior citizens also addressed the gathering and shared their experiences regarding road safety. Light was thrown on the various provisions of Motor Vehicles act and rules therein and the penalties prescribed for the violation of traffic rules. “Use of mobile phones, drunken driving , over speeding and overloading during driving were some of the common practices that a driver should refrain off while driving”, said ARTO Doda Mr Azhar Amin Zargar while addressing the participants.The Drivers were given an opportunity to present their grievances and raise their issues. The driver community was also addressed by ADC Doda , Mr Hanief Malik, SSP Doda Mr Z.N Manhas, Dy. SP Traffic Farooq Khan.During the interaction with the drivers, they were told to understand their responsibility in the society and avoid various violations on road that may cause accidents and loss of precious lives.
