Not succumbing  before militants pressure, Shafiq Mir chairman All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC)  an apex body of the Panchayat members of the state has categorically refused to succumb before any pressure or dictate of militants what ever the consequences will be . Describing the latest threat of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) to the Panchayat members of the state a cowardice act, Mir said such acts and activities of militants will never  weaken their resolve and stand for democracy  and such acts will expose them before world that how they were carrying attacks on unarmed people .  “ I appeal to all the panchayat members of the state not to succumb before any pressure and not to resign under any pressure . However, in the same breath Mir has accused both the governments of Jammu and Kashmir and union government of India for not making any arrangement for the security of Panchayat members of the state . Panchayat Conference chief, Shafiq Mir  in his statement has said that if any attack is carried on any panchayat member of the state the government of Jammu and Kashmir will be responsible . “ We have already lost our six Panchayat mebers and dozens got injured in various such attacks but government has not taken any step to save the Panchayat members of the state”, said Mir .It is pertinent to mention here that Lashker-e-Toiba a dreaded militant organization has threatened through posters pasted on various public places on Thursday in Kashmir valley asking the Panchayat members to resign immediately or face the attacks on them .
