A meeting to review the arrangements for the celebration of National Voters Day on 25th of January was held under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Showkat Aijaz Bhat. The District Development Commissioner directed all the officers present to maintain coordination to make this day a successful event. He said that such type of programs play an important role to aware the masses about participation in electoral process and thereby to strengthen democracy.He also directed the officers to inform people about the participation in the electoral process and therefore necessary steps should be taken in advance to educate Women, Youth, School and College students about the importance of their participation in electoral process and thereby to choose the right representative. The different aspects of the programme were addressed during the meeting like celebration of function at polling station level, at district level, publicity issues, young voters festival through competitions viz. Debates, Paintings, Quiz competition on the topics relating to Election on National Voters' Day, Rallies and Road march of students, Mock polls etc. ADC Ganderbal, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, CEO, ACR, and all the officers of the other departments were present in the meeting.
