Sub-Divisional Magistrate Mendhar, Thakur Sher Singh reviewed the arrangements for 67th Republic Day celebrations at a meeting of Sub-Divisional officers here today.Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Shahid Naheim Choudhary, Tehsildar Mendhar, Ch. Salam Din, Tehsildar Mankote, Shehzad Ahmed Khan besides other officers and representatives of government and private educational institutions attended the meeting.It was decided in the meeting that the main function shall be held at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Mendhar where the national flag shall be unfurled at 10:00am. Parade contingents comprising of JKP, JKAP besides students of educational institutions will participate and a cultural programme, highlighting local culture, communal harmony and patriotism, by school children will also be presented on the occasion.
Necessary directions were passed on by the SDM to the concerned officers for traffic regulations, security and seating arrangements, barricading, prize distribution etc. The SDM instructed the Deputy CEO for ensuring participation of educational institutions in ceremonial parade and cultural programme. It was also decided that similar functions shall be held at Tehsil and Naibat level. The SDM stressed upon the officers to put in coordinated efforts for smooth conduct and celebrations of national function.
