Rural self employment institute worth Rs. 3 crore being established at village Bhago Majra will be a blessing for youths of district SAS Nagar. Training for self employment will be provided to the youngsters and low interest loans will also be provided so that they could establish their own business. Stating this Deputy Commissioner Sh. Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu expressed his good wishes on Worth Youth Day eve and said that various programs dedicated to World Youth Day will be organised in the district during the year. Sidhu said that future of the state lies with the hands of young generations. As such it is the need of the hour to get them trained & developing skills for helping them to become self independent. He said that Govt. of Punjab is establishing Skill Development centres at village level in rural areas. As such, skill development centres will be established in various villages of district SAS Nagar so that youngsters could establish their own business after getting training from here.
He said that free self employment training has been provided to 4578 youngsters in the district by Rural Self Employment Training institute out of which self business has been started by 2668 youngsters. This has helped him to become more financially stable & independent.Sh. Sidhu said that low interest loans are also being provided to the youngsters for higher education. He said that low interest rate loans world Rs. 190 crores will be provided by NABARD in the district for the youngsters seeking higher education. Besides this youngsters are encouraged for vocational courses by Nehru Yuva Kendra. In this regard, to unite the young generation with the felling of patriotism and moral values, debate competitions are being organised and winners are encouraged and honoured with cash prizes.
