Despite repeated pleas, police did not listen to anything and ruined his whole year,” Hussain Mir the father of the detained student told CNS adding that his son has never picked up a stone in his hand and he had visited to the area to meet one of his relatives.

Hussain added that it was the obligation of the police to accompany his detained son to the examination centre located at Government Girls High School Rahmoo. “I pleaded before the police officials to accompany my son to the examination centre but they didn’t bother,” he alleged.

Locals said that scores of youth were detained by police during nocturnal raids in Pirchoo and other areas on charges of stone-pelting.
