The Punjab Education Minister  Sikandr Singh Maluka today asked Captain Amarinder Singh to stop indulging in  wishful thinking on the durability of the SAD-BJP government and said that the PPCC chief was indulging in  mid-day reveries about his return to center-stage politics in Punjab .  Describing Captain Singh’s so-called Punjab tour as “ his swan song “ ,  Maluka said that this was like the proverbial fluttering of the flame before the final snuff-out.” The minister further said  that Captain had become a laughing stock within his own party, and nobody even in the Congress took his bluster seriously and even his erstwhile protégés like Sukhpal Singh Khehra openly mocked his statements now. Everyone is laughing at his pitiable conduct and  Captain Sahib finds it hard to stomach this humiliating plight . His false bravado against the SAD was like a frightened man’s whistling in the dark  Maluka was reacting to Captain Singh’s statement that the SAD-BJP government should not take its five year tenure for granted. “ Captain Singh should now retire peacefully instead of making a  sorry spectacle of himself with inane statement statements like these.  Like any other senile and dethroned monarch, he is mumbling in half sleep and his plight has become pitiable indeed. “Captain Amarinder Singh knows that he is on his last leg and there is no chance of his surviving for the next five years even within the Congress. Therefore, he is indulging in day dreaming about an exit of the SAD-BJP government before its full five year term.  But someone should go and remind him of the famous Punjabi saying that  “kaavaan de kahe dhagge nahin marde.” The education minister told Captain Singh that it was had for him to retain even his present position within the PPCC. He was dreaming of a return to power before these elctions. But shock and trauma of defeat have clearly affected his mental equilibrium. But , said the minister his typical chaste Malwa Punjabi feast, that  Captain would do well  to remember  “Ke Puttar  sara pind mar  jaaye, par tu lambardar nahin banada.” (You won’t be the village chief  even if the whole village dies.” )   Maluka said that it was pathetic to see the stuffed figure of the ex- Maharaja  buffeting on the streets of the state and licking dust on the roads. “Is it the same man who would not stir out of his air conditioned suites even to meet his own senior party leaders  in cabinet colleagues. ? His frustration shows through in his desperate statements bordering on mental delirium,” said  Sikandar Singh Maluka. His party should look after his health, said  maluka.
