Minister of State for Technical Education, Power, CAPD and Information, Vikar Rasool Wani laid the foundation stone of Model Village at Paristan of Block Ramsoo in Tehsil Banihal on Sunday.While speaking on the occasion, Vikar Rasool Wani said that development works worth Rs 1.20 crore will be undertaken in the village under the scheme for providing basic amenities to the inhabitants.Vikar said that all the villages of the Banihal constituency are witnessing overall development. He said that road connectivity, Health facility, opening and up gradation of schools, electrification of uncovered areas, ITI, Degree Collage etc have been given focused attention.He said that UPA government has started various welfare and developmental schemes for the upliftment of the women, children, old age and weaker section of the society which includes MGNARGA, IAY, RTI, SSA, RAMSA and MDM etc.
He stressed upon the youth to come forward to take technical training to gain employability for various under-construction mega projects in the state. He informed the people that large number of educated youth are being imparting free training in the colleges of Punjab, Haryana and other states.Earlier people apprised the Minister with the demands, which include Health Centres, upgradation of schools, new road projects, electrification, water supply schemes, more Anganwari Centres etc. Responding to demands, Minister said that work on food store will be start soon and ambulance and school bus will also be provide soon and assured the people that their genuine demands will be fulfilled in shortest possible time.ACD, Arvind Kinwani, DPO, Xen REW, and officers of different departments, Sarpanches, Panches and large number of villagers attended the function.
