Madan Lal Sharma Member Parliament Jammu Poonch Constituency while addressing a Public meeting at Kabir Basti Jammu called upon the State Government to ratify the street vendors (Protection of livelihood and regulation of street Vending) Bill 2012 which is applicable for protecting the rights of self employed youths and Vendors who earned at their own and are not demanding Government jobs. He said that non street vendors can earn their livelihood with dignity and honor as the vendors’ bill has an overriding effect on all laws and acts of police and municipal corporations who use to harass them citing several of their acts. The bill has a mandatory provision to form town vending committees with 40 percent representation from vendor organizations. Sharma also demanded implementation of schemes for SC, ST , OBC and other opressed sections of the Society in letter and spirit. He called upon the people to strengthen the bond of Amity and brotherhood for the overall development of the State in particular and National in general. Mr. Sharma said that peace, amity and brotherhood are pre-requisite for the progress and prosperity of the state or society. He asked people to be aware of the communal forces which will try to pide people for their vested interests. He also felt the need to encourage the peace loving communities and discouragement to the trouble monglers and peace disturbing elements.
Sharma said that during the past 9-10 years as MP, he has tried to address the aspirations of people from all communities, districts and faiths without any discrimination and will continue to work for the development of his constituency in every possible manner. Mr. Sharma also sought people’s support for watching the interests of Jammu as congress will be the part of all successive governments in the state and is the only party which can address the aspirations of all sections of society.Mr. Sharma also directed the officers accompanying to address the local needs of people raised by them during the meeting .Prominent among other present includes Shri Kuldeep Raj Verma, Vice Chairman OBC,Sardar A.S Micky , Ex.MLC, D.S Langey, Distt.
