Maintaining that the Government is committed for accelerating the holistic development  of the State by ensuring that the schemes are fast paced, the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today said that the necessary instructions have already been passed to ensure that the implementation is done in a transparent manner so that the benefit percolates to the targeted populace.The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing huge gatherings at Ramkote, Bhadu and other areas in Billawar, Kathua after laying foundation stone of Common Facility cum Community Centre being constructed with an estimated cost of Rs. 50.00 lac.Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Abdul Haq Khan, MLA Bani, Mr. Jeevan Lal  and senior officers of District Administration were present on the occasion.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that people should come forward and avail the maximum benefit of the various welfare schemes and programmes being undertaken by the Government as by doing so they would be exhibiting a participatory role which is very essential in a democratic set up besides they would also be providing the requisite feedback about the implementation. “The schemes being undertaken by the Government have a tremendous potential of changing the socio-economic profile of the people besides providing them the much needed job opportunities at their door steps”, he added.Referring to the various recently announced schemes like NFSA, Ladli Beti, Aasra the Deputy Chief Minister said that these programmes are of historic nature as they would ensure that the people get adequate supply of food grains at subsidized rates and the social security schemes would go a long way in reversing the declining sex ratio in the State. He said that various other schemes would ensure that the State comes up as one of the leading states of the country replete with all the facilities of modern living.

The Deputy Chief Minister while referring to the huge potential of Billwar Basohli in Tourism sector said that he has already taken up the issue of having a separate tourist development authority for Billawar so that the tourist related activities get a fillip. He said that the Government has also enhanced road connectivity network by connecting various inaccessible areas with the main land so that the economic and related activities of those areas get the requisite boost.Dr. Singh said that all un-electrified villages of the area would soon be provided electricity under DDUJY scheme besides instructions have already been passed to the officers of the PDD for procurement of material for augmenting electrical infrastructure in the area.“The recently announced package by the Prime Minister is very comprehensive in nature and would further catalyze pace of development of the State’ an amount of Rs. 80,000 crore has been earmarked for undertaking development in various sectors “ , Dr. Nirmal Singh said.  He further added that the onus lies on us to ensure that it is implemented in a transparent and effective manner so that set targets are achieved and people get benefited from these developmental initiatives.

The Deputy Chief Minister also directed the officers to undertake the construction of Aglidar-Rajwalta road, Ladli –Drub, foot bridges at Dhankote- Malti Road, Dharlta, Ramkote-Barral, Ladli-Drub, he also directed for construction of a bridge at Dhanoparole near Ujjh River. He also adopted the Higher Secondary School at Ramakote to be taken up as model school.

Minister for Rural Development, Mr. Abdul Haq khan while speaking on the occasion said that the government has ensured that the pace of various developmental initiatives is accelerated by ensuring proper monitoring of these and also ensuring accountability and transparency is maintained.  He said that the schemes being undertaken in the Rural Development sector have been instrumental in changing the rural landscape besides ensuring the socio-economic profile of people living in these areas gets elevated.The Minister said that the schemes and decisions taken by the Coalition government are historic as they have been people centric, need based and area specific. He said that development of the State has been taken on equitable basis without giving preferential treatment to any particular area or region.
