Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh has said that the Government is committed for accelerating the developmental initiative in Ladakh region and in this regard several schemes have already been undertaken.The Deputy Chief Minister was interacting with the deputation of Councillors from Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council led by its CEC Dr. Dawa.Minister for Cooperatives, Mr. Tsering Dorjey, Member Parliament, Mr. Avinash Rai Khanna, MLA Jammu West and State President, Mr. Sat Sharma was also present.The Deputy Chief Minister said that the development of Ladakh region is high on the government’s agenda and necessary mechanism has already been put in place for accelerating the pace of the development in this region.
While responding to the demands of the Councillors regarding the electricity scenario in Ladakh, Dr. Singh said that un-electrified villages would soon be taken up under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Vidyuti Karan Yojana and the electric infrastructure would soon be upgraded and augmented, so that the people living there do not face any inconvenience.He said that Leh and other towns would be developed under various state and centrally sponsored schemes so that they are developed on modern lines with all the amenities of modern housing needs. MP Avinash Rai Khanna and MLA Sat Sharma also spoke on the occasion and assured the deputation that their demands would be addressed at the earliest.
