The Irrigation minister of Punjab Sharanjit Singh Dhillon today laid the foundation stones of water supply projects worth Rs. 2.31 crore to provide drinking water to more than 25,000 residents of Sahnewal assembly segment.Addressing the gathering in various functions organized at Shankar Colony, Village Bhamiya Khurad and Guru Ramdas Nagar, Mr. Dhillon said that Punjab Government was fully committed to provide safe drinking water and sewerage facilities to the people of Punjab and Rs. 4000 crore would be spent on these facilities in all 147 towns of the state.Talking about the development works in Sahnewal assembly constituency, he said that Punjab Government would provide Rs. 25 crore for the ongoing development projects, which would be utilized in next 6 months.He said that the Punjab Government has decided to dedicate the next year to the development and employment by investing heavily in the infrastructure and primary sector with an aim of the welfare of the people.
