Hurriyat (G) Tuesday held an important Advisory Council meeting (Majlis-e-Shura) at Hyderpora under the chair of its Chairman Syed Ali Geelani.According to a statement issued to KNS, the meeting was attended by the heads or representatives of Democratic Freedom Party, Anjuman Share-i-Shia, Peerwani Wallayat, Jammu Kashmir Employees Movement, National Front, Muslim Khawateen Markaz, Tehreek-e-Khawateen Kashmir, Muslim Democratic League, Insaf Party, Democratic Political Movement, People’s Political League, People’s Freedom League, Tehreek-e-Wahadat-i-Islami, Mass Movement, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Tehreek-e-Mazahamat, Muslim Conference, Muslim League, Pahari Gujjar Republican Forum, and Islamic Political Party participated. The meeting thoroughly discussed the prevailing political situations in the state and also the future strategy of the Hurriyat (G) in this regard. While commenting over the ongoing dialogue process between the India and the Pakistan, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani in his presidential address said that we are not against the talks but the bilateral dialogues has neither solved the Kashmir issue in the past and nor can it be possible in the future too.

He said that more than 150 rounds of talks during the last 68 years failed to make any progress in resolution of the issues and if both the countries continued to follow the same track, then we will not be wrong in saying that the fresh dialogue process is also merely a time killing process and the two nations have agreed to continue the traditional and customary dialogues and they are not serious in resolving the main hurdle in their relations that is the Kashmir issue. while addressing the Pakistani rulers, Syed Ali Geelani said that till the Kashmiris are not taken into confidence with regarding to the recent talks and it is not elaborated that what stand Pakistan had adopted regarding to the Kashmir issue in the ongoing dialogue process and what are their future strategies in this regard, till than our reservations will not end and we can’t support them.

Hurriyat (G) chairman said that we are not interested to participate in the ongoing talks process because until the dialogues are held under the auspices of the UNO or any other friendly country, the Kashmiri leadership is included in the process and it is stated in clear terms that Kashmir is a disputed territory and the talks are being held to solve this dispute, till then all the dialogues will fail to deliver and the demand for inclusion in these talks is a meaningless and unnecessary matter and we are not interested in that.Syed Ali Geelani reiterated that Kashmir is not any border dispute between India and Pakistan which they could mutually solve but it is the issue of the future of 1.5 crore natives of Jammu & Kashmir and no decision can be imposed upon them.

The executive body unanimously termed the detention of political leaders and activists in different jails and homes as worst kind of state terrorism and said that the BJP-PDP coalition government with respect to the pro-freedom people is not only following the Omer Abdullah policies but this regime is proving worst than that and the government is practically implementing the RSS agendas in Kashmir and the orders for small issues too come from the Nagpur.

The pro-freedom leaders are not been given any kind of political space and their peaceful activities has been completely banned. While expressing deep concern over the plans of government to convert the Bajpathri meadows into a firing range, the advisory council (Majlis-e-Shura) said that the proposed move of the administration will be resisted tooth and nail. The Shura also called for a proactive role on the diplomatic front and said that Hurriyat Conference will name a delegation in near future who will work to highlight the issue and aware the public about the reality of India. The Majlis-e-Shura also reaffirmed their resolve that despite all the odds and cruelties, we will continue to pursue our cause and we will not show any kind of weakness in the struggle and we will accept nothing less than complete freedom from India.(KNS)
