A delegation of Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) led by its President S. Gurdev Singh, called on Governor N.N. Vohra here at the Raj Bhavan.The delegation requested the Governor to impress upon both the Central and the State Governments for early disbursement of the package of Rs. 2000 crores for Displaced Persons; clarify criteria for one-time settlement of Displaced Persons and quantum of compensation to be calculated under the guidelines of Joint Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs’ Report No. 183; notify the number of DPs families to be considered for compensation; reframe the package afresh separately for each category of refugees/displaced persons taking into consideration their loss of life and property.The Governor observed that he had taken up JKSAC’s problems with the State Government and the Union Home Minister and would do so again.
