The BJP on Saturday accused the Congress of organising a show of strength while its top leaders appeared in a court here in the National Herald case, and said "Congress and corruption are made for each other"."National Herald is yours. Corruption is yours. The BJP has nothing to do with all this," union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told the media here.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son and party vice president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday appeared before Metropolitan Magistrate Loveleen in the National Herald case and were granted unconditional bail.

The Delhi High Court had dismissed their plea to quash the summons issued to them by the trial court on Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy's complaint."Congress and corruption are made for each other," said Naqvi, adding that "despite being in opposition they (the Congress) are supporting corruption"."The country knows the legacy and politics of this family," he said.He took a dig at the Congress for accusing BJP of political vendetta in the case.

Naqvi said: "Politicising a matter which is in court and then stalling the proceedings of parliament. By doing this they tried to show the people accused in corruption cases as patriotic."Last year, the trial court issued summons to the Congress leaders on Swamy's complaint about "cheating" in the acquisition of Associated Journals Ltd., which published the National Herald newspaper, by Young India Ltd., "a firm in which Sonia and Rahul Gandhi each own a 38 percent stake".
