Government Degree College Udhampur (Boys) clinched the final of Governor’s Silver Rolling Trophy in men’s category while in women’s category GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu lifted the trophy in the 2nd State level Inter-College Volleyball Championship here today which concluded at GDC (boys) ground Udhampur.Minister of State for Finance and Information Technology, Mr. Pawan Kumar Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Pawan Kumar Gupta complimented the organizers for the successful conduct of the tournament. He said holding tournaments was a step forward to give a platform to the budding players and to encourage sports culture in the state.Principal GDC Udhampur, Mr. S.S Bhalwal said that 32 teams of the state participated in the tournament and exhibited their sports talent in the championship.Govt Degree College Udhampur defeated GGM Science College in the men’s category, while in women’s category; GCW Gandhi Gandhi Nagar trounced GCW MA Road Srinagar.Among others, Dr Udey Bhanu, Prof Kamal Kishore, Prof Suresh Dogra, Prof G R Verma, Dr Ajay Sharma and other members of the civil society were present on the occasion.
