Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, Power Development and Housing and Urban Development Mohammad Ashraf Mir on conducted an extensive tour of various areas of Eidgah Constituency in Srinagar and took stock of Power scenario in the constituency.The Minister toured Eidgah, Achen, Wanganpora, Syedpora, Tanghbagh, Palpora, Guzarbal and Noorbagh areas of the constituency. The Minister was accompanied by Chief Engineer Power Development Department (PDD) and Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Committee (SMC).Enroute several deputations met the Minister and apprised him about their problems. He gave them patient hearing and assured that their genuine demands would be looked into.At Wanganpora, Mr. Mir the Receiving Station wherein people demanded replacement of a feeder. He minister directed the officials to replace the same.Responding to public demands at other places, the Minister instructed the authorities provide uninterrupted electricity to the people. At Syedpora Tangbagh, residents asked the Minister that transformer has not been installed. 

The Minister asked the CE PDD to install 250 KV transformer in the area. He gave on spot directions for improving power supply in the area. He also directed SMC officials to improve drainage system in the area.At Palpora, the Minister met various deputations who put forth various demands. Responding to their demands, Mr. Mir gave on spot directions to concerned officers for providing better drainage to the area. On people’s demand, the Minister asked SMC officials to land fill the local graveyard as the residents complained that it gets submerged after rains.He also asked PDD authorities to take immediate measures to improve power supply in the area.Later, Minister also visited Achen dumping site. He was informed that the department is using modern scientific technology for decomposing the waste material.He asked the officers to install modern machinery at the site so that the waste material is used to develop energy. He was told that segregation machines would be installed soon which will help in managing the waste material adding that SMC has approached many companies for procurement of modern scientific machinery for decomposing waste material on scientific lines.
