Democratic Liberation Party chairman Hashim Qureshi has asked Pakistan to disband the Constitutional Committee constituted by the Nawaz Sharif government for determining the constitutional status of Gilgit-Baltistan.In a statement to KNS, Qureshi said that the committee headed by Sartaj Aziz should be disbanded as it will further disintegrate Jammu and Kashmir.“Such decision has been taken at the behest of China as the latter had vehemently told Pakistan that it would not built the Economic Corridor until the constitutional status of Gilgit-Baltistan with Pakistan is not decided,” he claimed. He said that GB is a part of disputed regions of Jammu and Kashmir which have been occupied by both India and Pakistan as well. “If Pakistan gives constitutional status to GB, it means further disintegration of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.Qureshi claimed that not only the people of Indian occupied Kashmir will oppose such move but India will also raise questions over it.He added that despite Article 370 India could not make Kashmir its part, how can Pakistan decide the status of GB.The DLP leader warned the government of Pakistan that such will be disastrous for Kashmir and the fate of Jammu and Kashmir will be decided by the people of the disputed regions.
